Growing Together: Primary Curriculum Pathway 

This course is a 12 week course,  delivered in the home to students who are unable to attend on site provision. 

This flexible, bespoke course package is designed to inspire primary-aged children through hands-on, engaging activities that adapt to each child’s age, stage, and interests. With a focus on playful exploration and practical learning, the course introduces foundational skills in literacy, maths, science, social-emotional development, geography, history, and the arts. Each module—whether Words and Wonder for language development, Maths in Motion for real-world maths, or Creative Expressions for self-discovery through art—can be tailored to meet the unique developmental needs and curiosity of every child. Delivered in a way that fosters curiosity and individual growth, this course empowers children to discover their strengths, explore new ideas, and develop essential skills in a nurturing and interactive environment.

Words and Wonder – Playful Literacy and Language Exploration

  • Younger Children: Focus on phonics, letter recognition, and playful storytelling. Activities include rhyming games, interactive storytime, and vocabulary-building through songs and chants.

  • Older Children: Emphasis on reading comprehension, creative writing, and exploring language through books and storytelling. Activities include writing simple stories, discussing characters and themes, and vocabulary enrichment.

Course Overview: Maths in Motion – Hands-On, Real-World Maths Activities

  • Younger Children: Basic concepts such as counting, shapes, and patterns using hands-on activities like building blocks and simple puzzles. Emphasis on understanding numbers through play-based activities.

  • Older Children: Practical maths skills like measurement, simple addition and subtraction, and introductory geometry, using real-world applications such as cooking, building projects, and interactive problem-solving.

Course Overview: Discovery and Curiosity – Sensory Science Experiments

  • Younger Children: Focus on exploring the senses and simple cause-and-effect through experiments, such as mixing colours, exploring textures, and observing natural elements like water and sand.

  • Older Children: Deeper exploration into scientific concepts, such as states of matter, plant growth, and basic chemistry, through experiments that introduce hypothesis testing and observation.

Course Overview: Growing Together as Friends – Social and Emotional Learning

  • Younger Children: Building foundational social skills, such as sharing, empathy, and recognising emotions. Activities include role-playing, sharing games, and stories about friendship.

  • Older Children: Expanding social awareness, conflict resolution, and self-regulation. Activities focus on teamwork, identifying complex emotions, and exploring real-life scenarios in friendships and peer interactions.

Course Overview: Our World and Stories from the Past – Introduction to Geography and History

  • Younger Children: Introduction to basic geography concepts (e.g., maps, local landmarks) and simple stories from history or cultural tales. Activities include map exploration and storytelling.

  • Older Children: Broader look at geography (continents, countries) and historical events or figures. Activities may include basic map-making, timeline creation, and discussions about different cultures and historical impacts.

Course Overview: Creative Expressions – Art, Music, and Movement for Self-Discovery

  • Younger Children: Exploration of creativity through sensory-rich art, singing, dancing, and simple instruments. Focus on expressing emotions through colour, sound, and movement.

  • Older Children: Introduction to different art techniques, music styles, and movement as a form of expression. Activities include painting, learning rhythm, exploring dance styles, and creating personal artwork.

This course structure is flexible, adapting to the developmental stages of each child to ensure an engaging, age-appropriate learning experience in literacy, math, science, social skills, geography, history, and creative arts.
