Pathways to Healthy Living: Strategies for Wellbeing
This course is a 6 week course, delivered in the home to students who are unable to attend on site provision.
This course can be accredited by the NCFE at Level 1 or Level 2
Week 1: Introduction to Healthy Living

Defining healthy living: physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The importance of a balanced lifestyle.
Week 2: Nutrition Basics
Topics Covered:
Understanding macronutrients and micronutrients: what they are and why they matter.
Creating balanced meals: portion sizes, food groups, and meal planning.
Week 3: Physical Activity and Fitness
Topics Covered:
Benefits of regular physical activity: cardiovascular health, strength, and flexibility.
Types of exercise: aerobic, strength training, and flexibility exercises
Week 4: Mental Health and Wellbeing
Topics Covered:
Understanding mental health: common issues and their impact on overall health.
Strategies for maintaining mental wellness: mindfulness, stress management, and coping mechanisms
Week 5: Building Healthy Habits
Topics Covered:
The science of habit formation: how to create and sustain healthy habits.
Setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals for health.
Week 6: Creating a Supportive Environment
Topics Covered:
The role of community and social support in maintaining healthy lifestyles.
Strategies for fostering a supportive environment at home and in the community.
By the end of the course, participants will have a holistic understanding of healthy living, equipped with practical strategies to enhance their wellbeing and support a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their communities.
